Goal: To encourage self-love and positive reinforcement by sharing compliments about yourself and your family members.
Instructions (To Read Aloud to Your Child):
Let’s fill out the shapes with compliments about yourself and your family members! You can write or draw something that makes each person feel special. Think about the qualities you love about each other.
Start with yourself and then think of nice things to say about your family members. You can fill out as many shapes as you like!
For Parents:
This activity helps reinforce positive self-esteem and strengthen family bonds. By sharing compliments, children can feel proud of who they are and develop a deeper appreciation for their family members.
Conversation Starters for Parents
“What’s something you admire about yourself today?”
“What’s a recent kind thing you did for someone in our family?”
“How do you feel when someone gives you a compliment?”
“What’s something you love about your family?”
Extension Activity:
Once the shapes are filled out, place them in a jar. Each day, pick one compliment from the jar to talk about as a family. It’s a fun way to remind each other of the positive qualities that make everyone special!
