Goal: This activity helps children recognize, express, and communicate their emotions in a fun and visual way. It encourages self-awareness by connecting feelings to facial expressions, colors, and weather patterns.

Instructions for Use:

  1. Draw Your Feelings Inside & Outside:

    • In the first two blank faces, children will draw:

      • Left Side: How they feel inside (e.g., happy, sad, nervous).

      • Right Side: What their face looks like on the outside (e.g., smiling, frowning).

    • This helps children understand that sometimes their inside feelings don’t always match their outside expressions.

  2. Express Feelings Through Colours:

    • In the paint splashes, children will colour in the shades that match their emotions.

    • Encourage them to think about:

      • What color feels like happiness?

      • What colors do you feel when you're frustrated or excited?

  3. Choose a Weather Emotion:

    • Ask the child: If your feeling was the weather, what would it be?

    • Have them circle or colour in the weather that best represents their mood.

      • ☀️ Sunny = Happy

      • ⛅ Cloudy = Unsure

      • ☔ Rainy = Sad

      • ⛈️ Stormy = Angry or frustrated

      • 🌈 Rainbow = Hopeful
