Goal: Help students strengthen their ability to recognise and interpret emotional cues in themselves and others by analysing social scenarios.

Materials Needed:

  • Printable “Emotion Clues” worksheet

  • Pencils or coloured pencils

  • Optional: blank-lined paper or storytelling template

Instructions:

  1. Hand out the Emotion Clues worksheet to each student.

  2. The worksheet will present illustrated social scenarios (e.g., someone sitting alone at lunch, a child who dropped their project).

  3. Students are asked to answer short reflective questions for each scene:

    • “How do you think this person feels?”

    • “Have you ever felt that way before?”

    • “What helped you when you felt like that?”

    • “What could you say or do to help this person?”

  4. (Optional) Invite students to write or draw a short “What happened next?” story to extend the activity creatively on the back of the page.

Discussion Prompts (Group or Partner Reflection):

  • “What clues helped you guess how the person felt?”

  • “How can you tell what someone is feeling without words?”

  • “Why is it important to be able to notice how others feel?”

  • “What are kind ways we can respond to someone feeling this way?”
