Goal: Help students strengthen their ability to recognise and interpret emotional cues in themselves and others by analysing social scenarios.
Materials Needed:
Printable “Emotion Clues” worksheet
Pencils or coloured pencils
Optional: blank-lined paper or storytelling template
Instructions:
Hand out the Emotion Clues worksheet to each student.
The worksheet will present illustrated social scenarios (e.g., someone sitting alone at lunch, a child who dropped their project).
Students are asked to answer short reflective questions for each scene:
“How do you think this person feels?”
“Have you ever felt that way before?”
“What helped you when you felt like that?”
“What could you say or do to help this person?”
(Optional) Invite students to write or draw a short “What happened next?” story to extend the activity creatively on the back of the page.
Discussion Prompts (Group or Partner Reflection):
“What clues helped you guess how the person felt?”
“How can you tell what someone is feeling without words?”
“Why is it important to be able to notice how others feel?”
“What are kind ways we can respond to someone feeling this way?”
